Gravity Testing on First Montezuma Valley Claim Block; Trough System Identified

posted on Jan 07, 10 08:45AM

HENDERSON, NV--(January 7, 2010) - American Lithium Minerals Inc. (OTCBB: AMLM) (OTCBB: AMLME) www.americanlithium.com (the "Company") announced that the Gravity Survey of the Company's AF Claims on the Alkali Flats of Montezuma Valley has been completed by GeoXplor Corp. The data from the Gravity Survey has resulted in the identification of a trough system on the AF claim block that could be a possible catch basin for lithium brine. Alkali Flats is a structural basin, formed by a down-faulted crustal block overlain by younger volcanic rocks, of which some contain high lithium values and are considered to be the source of lithium found in subsurface brines in the Clayton Valley area. Lithium is liberated through mechanical and chemical weathering processes and transported until it is trapped in a closed basin or by impermeable rock along a fault scarp.

Stated Hugh Aird, CEO and President of American Lithium Minerals, "These results are certainly encouraging, and we are confident this process will confirm our high expectations for the potential for this premier property. We are excited to be in the verification process of the assets held within these claim properties."

American Lithium has now commissioned a gravity survey of the company's PMP and CR Claim Groups to determine the shape of the basin bedrock and identify any fault scarps in Montezuma Valley. Completion of all three Gravity Surveys will allow for the delineation of drill targets for all three Claim Groups in the Montezuma Valley. Drilling will be contracted and scheduled in 2010.

American Lithium's Montezuma Valley Brine Property is proximal to Chemetall's Clayton Valley Lithium Brine Operation, the only producing lithium mine in North America.
