SAGUENAY, QUEBEC - (Feb. 5, 2008) - Following the creation of its 100 %-owned Mexican subsidiary Minera Ariana, S.A. de C.V., Arianne Resources Inc. ("Arianne") (TSX VENTURE: DAR) (FRANKFURT: JE9) (OTCBB: DARUF) is pleased to announce the start of an exploration campaign on its Mexican properties.
On the El Rey property, exploration works will help define the gold and silver mineralized stockwerk zone and test its extensions East. Detailed maping and sampling will take place on the entire property while a soil geochemistry survey will take place on the East part of the property. IP and magnetometric surveys should take place in the following phase of works.
The El Rey property is located 60 km North of Mazatlan and covers an area of 153 hectares. The rocks on the property are mainly volcanites of intermediate to felsic composition of the Tertiary age (Inferior to Superior). The gold and silver mineralizations are present in veins and stockwerks. At the end of the 1990's, this property was explored (reverse circulation drilling and geochemical surveys) by Exploraciones Eldorado, Mexico, S.A. de C.V. in order to test some gold-bearing structures. Intersections from this drilling campaign returned the following gold values: 3.11 g/t Au on 4 metres in ER-1; 2.35 g/t Au on 6 metres in ER-4; 7.39 g/t Au on 8 metres in ER-9; 1.29 g/t Au on 10 metres in ER-11; 1.12 g/t Au on 4 metres and 1.00 g/t Au on 18 metres in drill hole ER-17.
On the San Jose property, exploration works will include mapping and sampling on the entire property. The goal being to improve the definition of the geological context of this grass roots property and to identify new exploration targets. Line cutting and a soil geochemistry survey should take place in a subsequent phase of exploration.
The San Jose property is located 15 km East-North-East of the town of Culiacan and covers an area of 104 hectares. The rocks on the property are also mainly intermediate volcanites of the Tertiary age (Medium). The gold mineralization is present within an andesitic-type brechia mineralized in arsenopyrite and chalcopyrite. The alterations consist of silicification, chloritisation, propylitisation and hematisation. There was little previous exploration done on this property where small artisan pits were surveyed. A sample extracted in 2003 and coming from one of these exploitation sites returned 27. 0 g/t Au and 921 g/t Ag.
During a due diligence visit on the property in February 2007 by Arianne, chosen samples returned 49.5 g/t Au and 1,805 g/t Ag on El Rey and 1.69 g/t Au and 95.6 g/t Ag on San Jose.
"We are excited to start the exploration on these two properties that show very interesting potential for gold and silver. They are easily accessible and are located close to important urban areas." mentioned Mr. Bernard Lapointe, CEO of Arianne.
