NEWS - Arianne Starts Exploration on the Natashquan and Havre-Nord Projects in North Shore, Quebec

posted on Jun 19, 08 05:07AM

SAGUENAY, QUEBEC - (June 19, 2008) - Arianne Resources (the "Company" or "Arianne") (TSX VENTURE: DAR) (FRANKFURT: JE9) (OTCBB: DARUF) announces the start of a follow-up field campaign on its Natashquan and Havre-Nord uranium projects. In June 2007, a Mag-EM-Radiometric helicopter survey took place on an important portion of these properties. Some of the identified targets were confirmed during a field visit in the autumn of 2007.

The Company previously announced, on October 24, 2007, the discovery of a pegmatite with strong Rare Earth Material (REM) content returning up to 0.43% U3O8. This pegmatite, located on the lower North Shore of Quebec, is located on the Havre Nord project, owned by Exploration Azimut (TSX VENTURE:AZM) and optioned by Arianne. The Company wishes to announce the results from additional studies coming from samples extracted in 2007 and inform shareholders about its 2008 uranium exploration program on the lower North Share.

Mineralogic study : The firm IOS Services Geoscientifiques inc. proceeded with a mineralogic study (four thin blades coming from the pegmatite) which was followed by micro-XRF (X-Ray Fluorescence) assays performed at UQAC (Universite du Quebec in Chicoutimi). Results show that Rare Earth Materials (REM) are concentrated within a silicate named allanite. The uranium is associated with secondary minerals coming from an unidentified primary mineralogy due to alteration. It is suspected that the uranium is contained within uranium-thorium oxydes possibly associated with other metals. This uranium phase seem to be mainly observed in inclusions within coarse grains of magnetite. Since the radioactive phases were highly altered, more exhaustive mineralogy studies will be necessary to identify the uranium/REM bearing minerals.

Analytical tests : Additional assays were performed on three samples that were quite rich and previously assayed (North-West-1 block). The samples were assayed by neutronic activation (INAA) at the Laboratoire d'Analyses Geochimiques of UQAC. REM and uranium are difficult to assay but the UQAC results confirm those previously announced and confirm that the rock is rich in uranium and REM.

This pegmatite is located in a zone that is highly enriched in uranium and spatially correlated to a strong uranium heliported anomaly outlined on an area of 1 km by 5 km. It could therefore have significant extensions.

2008 exploration program : A prospection follow-up started on all the blocks of the Natashquan and Havre-Nord projects. The three field teams are based at the Lac de la Galisonniere outfitter and they will visit all of the anomalous areas previously identified by the 2007 radiometric survey. This heliported survey will take place for 3 weeks. A systematic sampling of the pegmatite discovered in 2007 will also take place on the North-West-1 block.
