I read somewhere that lower oil is good for the short term but can be very dangerous for the long run.

I also noticed that when oil was high, a lot of alternative energy stocks, as well as companies which develop lithium ion batteries where also peaking at near record highs. Once oil came down their charts are identical. Perhaps oil in the 70s and 80s is better for the alternative energy sector? The charts are certainly suggesting that
