Many Americans are running out and buying gas-guzzling SUVs again because the price of gas is so low - this month. No one knows where it'll be in a year, or even in 6 months. The price of oil can't stay this low. Also, it seems to me that the switch to green/clean is in full-swing now with very little chance of letting up - it's not just about gasoline anymore (although I think a lot of people's eyes were opened when gas went to US$4.50/gallon and they don't want to be caught in that position again (with the exception of the SUV buyers I just mentioned)).
