Bard Ventures: Brief Company OVERVIEW

posted on Oct 25, 09 02:09PM

My recent post to a private discussion forum on Stockhouse regarding one's most undervalued stock picks:

BARD Ventures Ltd. (TSX-V CBS):

I currently hold positions in approximately 25 junior exploration stocks (90% of those are mining the others oil/natural gas plays). My greatest paper gains thus far have been from prurchasing Pacific Rubiales during the market sell-off last year at $3.22 US, .it is now just over $13 and climbing.

Presently I feel that Bard Ventures Ltd (TSX-V CBS) is the most undervalued of my portfolio. It's flagship property (Lone Pine) is a Moly play. The property has excellent infrastructure in place (see below), and the distance from the nearby town of Houston, BC via highway 16, to Thompson Creek's Endako mine is approximately 150km/90 miles .

The property has 4 zones of Moly showings. Thus far a 43-101 has been defined (Jan 13/09) on the Alaskite zone (via approximately 20,000 metres (41 holes) of drilling... Measured + Indicated 110,340,000 tonnes Grading 0.083% Mo or just over 200 million pounds in situ. Metallurgical testing has produced molybdenum recoveries of 90% or greater.

Another 10,000 metres of drilling is currently planned to deliniate resources on the other three property zones. Thus far approximately 27,000 metres (21,000 in the Alaskite zone) in total has been drillied on the property to date . The C.E.O. has been, and continues to be, very fiscally prudent. He is not even remotely paying "lip service" to the concept of maximizing shareholder value....he has been an excellent steward of the property/company in my estimation.

The company has approximately 100, million shares outstanding (fully diluted/including options). With a recent SP (10/23/09) of 13.5 cents, the MCAP is less than $14 million. With a recent Moly price of approximately $13.50/pound, the insitu metal value approaches $ 2.7 BILLION. The ratio of the the current MCAP to the insitu metal value is ~ 1/200th.

The Property has access to an existing infrastructure including:

  • Highway 16;
  • a natural gas pipeline;
  • a major hydro power transmission line and transformer sub-station; and
  • is located only 15 kilometers from the CN rail line in Houston, BC

Recent (10/2009) Baystreet Report (Fundamental Research):
http://www.baystreet.ca/articles/research_reports/fundamental_research/bardventures102009.pdf

DISCLOSURE: I hold approximately 150,000 shares that I cost-averaged to 5 cents U.S. I intend on not selling (unless forced to tender by a takeover) for under $1, but hoping for $2- $4, which I believe can happen if continued drilling further defines an expanded resource estimate, and the macroeconomic situation contines to support a Moly price of $13.50 and above in the coming years.

Thank You for allowing me to join this forum. I look forward to reading others comments on this company, and reading about their most undervalued stock picks.

Cheers, Luker
