WASHINGTON, DC - (May 27, 2008) - Braintech, Inc. (OTCBB: BRHI) has become a member of the Robotics Technology Consortium (RTC), an organization focused on lowering entry barriers for small companies and higher education institutions commencing with the government acquisition process. The RTC was formed to provide the United States Department of Defense (DoD) with effective access to industry expert knowledge and evolving robotic technologies. Through the DoD, the consortium has established $175 million to spend on robotic research and development over the next seven years.
"We see this membership as a positive step towards procuring future government contracts," Braintech Chief Executive Officer Rick Weidinger said. "We have already presented two concepts to the consortium, which utilize our expertise in Robotic Vision Intelligence. We are confident Braintech is best-situated to provide the Department of Defense with much-needed autonomous, vision guided robotic applications for land, air and sea, and will continue to work diligently to make this happen."
