Brigadier Gold (TSX-V: BRG) Begins Drill Program at Matachewan Gold Project

Toronto, December 12, 2008 - Brigadier Gold Limited (“Brigadier” or “the Company”) (TSX-V: BRG) is pleased to announce that drilling has begun on the Company’s Matachewan gold project in Flavelle township located 38 kilometres southwest of Kirkland Lake, Ontario.

As previously announced (see news release dated February 26, 2008) Brigadier’s planned 2008 exploration program includes drill testing of the 780 hectare Matachewan gold project to follow up on past positive results. The work planned includes nine holes totaling about 1,600 metres of diamond drilling.

The targets being tested include two diamond drill holes completed by Brigadier in 2004: hole CD04-11, which intersected 1.75 g/t gold over 13.0 m, including 3.98 g/t gold over 2.69 metres, and hole CD04-12, which cut 1.24 g/t gold over 7.5 metres. In addition, the Company plans to target an area in which reverse circulation drilling encountered high counts of visible gold, suggesting a nearby source.

The Matachewan drill program is being supervised by L.G. Hobbs, P.Eng., Brigadier Gold’s Project Geologist and a qualified person under National Instrument 43-101. Mr. Hobbs has reviewed and approved the contents of this news release.
