Initial assays show encouraging grade near top of first two holes

TORONTO, ONTARIO-(July 14, 2008) - Brigadier Gold Limited ("Brigadier" or the "Company") (TSX VENTURE:BRG) today announced that it has received encouraging initial results from the current drill program at its Larder Lake Project located just south of the Town of Larder Lake in Ontario's Kirkland Lake-Larder Lake gold camp. Complete analytical results have not yet been received from any holes, however first assays from diamond drilling in the M-Island Zone have returned positive grades and thicknesses of gold mineralization at the top of holes MI-08-02 and MI-08-04.

Hole MI-08-04 cut a section of 1.82 g/t gold over a core length of 5.2 metres from 24.3 metres to 29.5 metres. This was within a longer 8.6 metre section grading 1.11 g/t gold from 21.4 metres to 30.0 metres. Hole MI-08-02 cut 2.8 metres of 0.995 g/t gold from 18.2 metres to 21 metres, within a longer section from 18.2 metres to 30.0 metres, assaying 0.256 g/t gold. Core logging is incomplete but gold values appear to be related to mineralized syenite intrusions on the north side of M-Island.

"Grades of up to 18.9 g/t gold have been intersected in prior drill programs in the M-Island Zone and visible gold has been found on surface. This current first phase of drilling is designed to test for northern extensions of the syenite hosted quartz veins identified in previous programs," said Herb Kokotow, President. "These initial results are positive and represent the start of one of our most comprehensive drill programs to date on this under explored and highly prospective project."

Exploration is supervised by L.G. Hobbs, P.Eng., Brigadier Gold's Project Geologist and a qualified person under National Instrument 43-101. Mr. Hobbs has reviewed and approved the contents of this news release.
