Canadian Mining cancels latest board appointment

2009-01-20 16:24 ET - News Release

Mr. Ray Paquette reports

CANADIAN MINING'S FURTHER ANNOUNCEMENT CONCERNING THE APPOINTMENT OF AN ADDITIONAL DIRECTOR

Canadian Mining Company Inc. detailed in Stockwatch on Jan. 19, 2009, the appointment of Marcy Kiesman to the board of directors of the company. Subsequent to the announcement, it was determined that the company's articles do not provide the usual power to appoint additional directors between annual general meetings and accordingly, the appointment of Ms. Kiesman was not effective.

Consequently, the company has engaged Ms. Kiesman on a consulting basis to provide accounting, finance, information management and strategic planning skills, and to take an active role in the company's business development and future financing opportunities.

The company intends, at its next annual general meeting, to:

  • Bring Ms. Kiesman's name forward for election as an additional director of the company;
  • Seek shareholder approval to amend its articles to allow the board to appoint additional directors between annual general meetings in accordance with the provisions of the Business Corporations Act (Alberta).
