Nokia recalls 14 million mobile phone chargers

Posted by Andrew Nusca @ 12:24 pm

Nokia on Monday announced a recall of 14 million potentially dangerous mobile phone chargers and said it will replace them for free.

A loose cover could expose the phone charger’s internal components and become an electrical shock hazard if accidentally touched during use, the company said.

The affected chargers are manufactured by third-party suppliers, Nokia said.

Chargers valid for exchange are 2-pin types and include AC-3E and AC-3U models manufactured between June 15 and August 9, 2009. The recall also includes the AC-4U model made between April 13 and October 25, 2009.
