I agree the Microsoft office platform has been an industry standard since its arrival in the early 90's. Microsoft also has made a lot of loot on their multitudes of operating system releases. Only a company like Microsoft can make money on creating new operating systems to fix the previous operating systems bugs / inadequacies.
It is interesting to note the WindRiver's embedded tool suite includes the Linux platform for RTOS development and the Microsoft platform for debugging.
Somewhere down the road it would be wonderful if EDIG could become an industry standard in flash software development. I wonder if EDIG management has a 10 year roadmap?
My main concern with EDIG is that they are trimming back on personal. Maybe EDIG's strategy is to become finacially stable, so that their books look good to a potential buyer?
My question at the SHM would have been. "What is the goal for EDIG 10 years down the road?" "And what is the plan to achieve the goal?"
