| iPOD is great, but the odyssey 1000 is better (3:01pm EST Mon Aug 05 2002) The new e.digital odyssey 1000 has all the features of the ipod and even more. The only thing that the ipod has that the odyssey doesn't is a 32 mb SDram, and a 20 minute shock-protection. But the odyssey still keeps up with those number by having a respectful 16 mb sdram and a better than average shock protection. Plus the odyssey has 20 gigs of space for $150 less than the ipod. It uses usb 2.0 which has an 8 mb/sec rate, which is faster than firewire, and more people have usb on their comps than firewire. The oddesey also sets new standards in mp3 player with a voice-recognition system, and a voicerecorder. theres also an fm radio, equlizer, clock and Firmware upgradeable and Playlist creation through user interface. But the best part is that in 4 hours of charging the odyssey it will last a minimum of 13 hours, now no other mp3 player can last more than 10 hours. So the ipod is great and all, but the oddysey tops it with more features, a lesser price, and a slick design just like much of the mp3 players. But dont give me that bullshi! about e.digital copieng iPODs cause theres another mp3 player coming out on the market in Japan which has the same looks as the ipod and odyssey, sure the iPOD might've insperation to the odyssey, but the shape that the ipod and odyssey have is just a popular and sleek design that people prefer over goffy designs likes the rio riot, neo, archos! All in all, the new e.digital is a top of the line digital music system! |
