A Florida man has been arrested on bank-robbery charges after police said he left notes demanding cash on the back of his personal checks.

Police arrested Patrick Johnson, 33, in a taxi cab in Marion County, Fla., on Monday after police said he robbed two Bank of America branches by giving tellers notes written on the back of his checks that said he was armed with a .45 caliber pistol, MyFOX Orlando reports.

Investigators said they charged Johnson after seeing the checks were from his checking account, the station said.
