Sonora Project, Yukon Territory (GOLD, SILVER, COPPER) - High-grade drill intercepts open at depth. Located near Sherwood Copper’s Minto mine development. Drilling to start in summer, 2007.
Alberta Sun Project, Alberta (URANIUM) - Initial surface exploration for roll-front uranium deposits yields positive results on a large land position.
TORLON HILL PROJECT - Zinc
- 41-hole, 3,493-metre drill program now complete.
- New zone of high-grade zinc discovered on west side of Torlon Hill.
- Significant intersections of high-grade zinc during drill campaign, with key assays from 3% to 42.3% zinc and 0.5% to 4.5% lead. Widths of mineralization ranged from 1.5 to 53 metres.
- Mineralization is mostly smithsonite (zinc) and lead carbonates with minor amounts of lead sulphide (galena).
- SGS Lakefield Limited to conduct preliminary metallurgical testing.
SONORA PROJECT - Gold, Silver, Copper
- Drilled 1,821 metres in 12 holes, late 2006. Next phase of exploration, including 2,725 metres of drilling, is scheduled to begin summer 2007.
- Amadeus Zone returned drill intercept of 6.21 g/t Au across 15.3 m, open at depth, including 12.9 g/t Au across 5.0 m.
- High-grade intersection open at depth in area never drilled.
- Results of separate 2006 Amadeus Zone hole included intercept of 50.1 g/t silver, with 0.321 g/t gold across 19.9 meters.
- 40 km from Sherwood Copper’s Minto mine development project.
ALBERTA SUN PROJECT – Uranium
- Firestone holds 100% interest in 207,750 acres prospective for roll-front uranium deposits.
- Completed 2,384 line kilometers of airborne electromagnetic and magnetic surveying in 2006/2007.
- TerraNotes of Edmonton, Alberta currently conducting preliminary analysis of data, to be followed by sophisticated modeling of the dataset.
- Main purpose of the survey is identify buried stream channels and potential sites of sandstone-hosted uranium.
