MONTREAL, QUEBEC-(Jan. 21, 2009) - Freewest Resources Canada Inc. (TSX VENTURE:FWR) announces that its Board of Directors has today granted stock options to three directors and officers and one consultant in respect of an aggregate of 1,150,000 common shares. The options were granted under Freewest's 2003 Stock Option Plan.
The exercise price of the options is $0.25 per share. The closing price of Freewest's common shares on the TSX Venture Exchange on January 20, 2009, the last trading day prior to today, was $0.235. The options expire in five years.
