VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA - (Dec. 16, 2009) - Garibaldi Resources Corp. (TSX VENTURE:GGI) ("Garibaldi"), is pleased to announce that Mr. Richard T. Osmond, P. Geo., has agreed to join the Board of Directors of Garibaldi. Mr. Osmond graduated from Memorial University of Newfoundland in 1990 with a Bachelor of Science (Honors) degree in Earth Sciences with majors in Geology and Geophysics.

Mr. Osmond has over 19 years of global experience in mineral exploration working as a professional geoscientist with several major mining companies including Voisey's Bay Nickel Company (Vale), Falconbridge (Xstrata) and Anglo American. Richard initially worked as the Project Geophysicist for Archean Resources Ltd. and later for Voisey's Bay Nickel Company during the early exploration stages of the Voisey's Bay Ni-Cu-Co discovery. Subsequently, Richard worked as the Senior Geophysicist for Falconbridge Ltd. responsible for Eastern North America including in-mine and advanced exploration at the Raglan Ni-Cu-PGE mine in northern Quebec. While at Raglan, Richard was involved in several new high grade Ni-Cu-PGE discoveries including the East Lake deposit and the Zone 5-8 deposits. Richard was also involved in one of the first ever commercial hyperspectral surveys using the ESSI Probe-1 through an exclusive use license agreement between Falconbridge and ESSI. Richard later went on to become the Senior Geophysicist for Anglo American Exploration Canada responsible for North America and Europe. With Anglo, he was involved in nickel exploration in Northern Canada, Alaska and Scandinavia as well as iron oxide-copper-gold (IOCG) and porphyry copper exploration in Mexico, Arizona and Alaska.

Since leaving Anglo in 2007, Richard has been a director of Cascadia Resources and a geological consultant to public and private exploration companies. Richard's unique ability to generate exploration models utilizing remote sensing technologies in conjunction with his geological and geophysical expertise is an invaluable skill set that will allow Garibaldi to accelerate exploration plans for its vast Mexican land holdings.
