good morning all
Thought a few minutes worth of reflection would be worth posting.
The first shares of Grizzly came into our accounts back in late 2007, mainly because I followed a few awesome posters from another board, on this website, over here to Grizzly and was encouraged by others here to give Mr. Testo a call as he was referred to me as a CEO who loved to talk to his shareholders. This was true then and is still the same today and I am grateful for that. The Grizzly story was shared with me in 2007.... a young boy who noticed the relationship between coal and diamonds and wondered out loud, to his teacher, if it is possible to find diamonds in the rich coal grounds of Alberta.... despite being told "no" he never lost the dream of finding them in the province that he calls home and which he loves.
When we first bought GZD shares the prospects at the time were for diamonds and the silver property in BC. The average then was around a $1.00 and we were excited and pleased to own them with just those two prospects. 2008 was an exciting year with the drilling for the diamonds happening, finding some diamondiferous kimberlites and then recession hit, the price of diamonds plummeted and no one was interested any longer in the speculative companies involved in diamonds, even ones that had found some.
What did Grizzly do? walk away and hide in his den? no!! He and Mr. Dufresne looked around and had new visions.... potash!! did it know borders? is it possible that the rich potash grounds in Saskatchewan stopped at the border of Alberta? unlikely! and so the staking began......... and why stop there? the price of gold was rising and that has always been his second love..... back to BC and the staking of the historic Greenwood area also began and now we have industrial mineral permits for Potash totaling more than 1.4 million acres along the Saskatchewan-Alberta border, five precious-base metal properties totaling over 175,000 acres in BC and more than 1 million acres in diamond properties that host diamondiferous kimberlites in the Buffalo Head Hills and Birch Mountains of Alberta.
Is our original $1.00 investment now only worth $.35 - $.45? In my humble opinion, it is worth a lot more and we are excited to see the volume and the price finally starting to rise again and can't wait to see where we will be in a few months or a year or two. Kudos to all the long time GZD holders and a warm welcome to all the news ones.... being part of this family, and it is a family, is a wonderful feeling and in some ways, although the recession hurt our portfolio in the short term, it gave us the chance to buy more at the recession sale prices and for that I choose to be grateful.
from the June 24th news release:
Grizzly's 2009 exploration plan for its Greenwood Gold Project holdings consists of a two to three month field program which will include geological mapping, rock and soil sampling, ground geophysics all leading to a late summer to fall drilling program. Based on positive results from the 2008 AeroTEM III survey, additional airborne geophysical surveys are being considered, in particular, over the Sidley-Dayton and Rock Creek portion of the project area. APEX crews are slated to mobilize to the Greenwood area to commence exploration during the first week of July.
We are now 5 weeks into the Greenwood field program and the excitement is building, I can hear it in Mr. Testo's voice when I have the opportunity to speak to him and it is obvious from the share volume, bids building, asks decreasing and price rise that others are feeling it too. It makes me want to jump on a plane and fly to BC to see these mountains and adits and blooms and trenches for myself.... if the SP rises much more I may just have to do that. Picturing the old time gold explorers with their picks and shovels and pans would be so much easier to do on site.
There are some good photos in the Photos link on the side menu here, so take a look at them and also take a few minutes to listen to the June Executive Address on the upper right side of the page.... and you may just catch some of the excitement yourself.
Looking forward with excitement and all the best to guys and gals on the ground doing the hard work for us........ thank you to Mr. Testo, the Board of Directors, Mr. Dufresne and the other geos for helping us dream the dream....
