and what about lithium?

posted on Aug 25, 09 06:18PM

a friend of mine, last week, brought the lithium stocks to my attention, telling me they were "running" so I started to do my research...

from Internation Lithium's website

First discovered in 1817, Lithium is found primarily in brine pools worldwide and generally as a byproduct from potash and rare metal mines. First produced commercially in 1923, Nevada USA remain the sole producing area of lithium in North America for the last 50 years (Chemetall-Foote Silver Peak production facility).

In the last 2-3 years, demand in lithium has been spiking primarily of the worlds recognition of lithium-ion battery technology. As electronic gadgets become smaller, lithium has become the main component of choice for lithium-ion batteries which boasts longer battery life, lack of memory effect, and a better energy-to-weight ratio.

We have potential potash lands staked... how likely does anyone think it is that we will also have lithium and would it be feasible/economical/mineable....worth a lot to us?

thank you in advance for any thoughts and also, thank you, Hotmuck, for the lovely daydreams your post gave to me..... QQ
