I don't think futures positions of individual institutions are widely available, unless someone knows different, but the following are some of the largest long positions in oil for 2nd Oct on the Japan Tokom market, which does publish data.

OIL
GSachs oil long 1255 contracts - largest long position on the TOCOM
Morgan Stanley Japan Securities Co MSJS 1080 long (one of the top three)

Perhaps these two important banks have a certain view of oil's future which seems to be up rather than down, although I haven't worked out what their historical positions have been?

Likewise 2nd Oct Japan Tokom commodoties/PM related.
GOLD
Goldman Sachs Japan position has fallen steadily over the last few years from 50,000 short contracts to a brief small long position late Sep.
presently GS is short gold but below 1000 contracts, and GS is silver long 3 contracts.
