Liberty Star Names New Vice President of Business Development, Mexico

TUCSON, Ariz.--(January 5, 2010)--Liberty Star Uranium & Metals Corp. (theCompany) LBSR: OTCBB is pleased to announce that it has named Eduardo Othon Vice President of Business Development, Mexico.

Mr. Othon is the founder of Global Commerce Solutions, LLC, an international business development consulting firm. He has advised companies on raising capital and market research in various sectors including mineral exploration, trans-pacific logistics, real estate, and bio-tech in the US, Mexico, China, Canada, Cypress, Great Britain, and the United Arab Emirates. Mr. Othon was also a director of business development for a bio-tech start-up company that developed a proprietary automated colony counter. Their technology was beta-tested by a Fortune 50 company in Arkansas.

Mr. Othon is a dual-citizen of the US and Mexico. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Arizona.

Liberty Stars CEO Jim Briscoe remarks, Eduardo has numerous business contacts in Mexico and is familiar with the complexities of the Mexican mining industry. He will work with Liberty Stars VP of Business Development-China, Larry Liang and Director William Cavalier to bring Liberty Star opportunities to develop and capitalize on our land positions in Alaska and Arizona, and perhaps, new opportunities throughout the Americas.
