A lot of investment advisers and other market observers, perhapes even the majority of them, have been throwing in the towel on the commodities Super Cycle,. It's over, they say, and why not? After all, haven't we been in a painful downtrend for years now?

Well, if we were in a Super Cycle it can't be over, because these are generational events, coming about on average from two to three times per century (as can be seen over thousands of years). In this regard, the dramatic bull market from '79/'80 to about '82 was not part of a Super Cycle, so we've not really had one since the post WWII economic boom.

Here's an older, but broader view of what a Super Cycle is (and isn't). See if you can agree. I do.
