To echo Porky's point, the only thing you need to buy Molycorp here is conviction they will survive, because it cant go any lower than zero. Now, it may be awhile before any traction is gained, but you dont want to be caught buying at over 5 cents when it starts edging upwards. You can buy twice as many shares at todays prces than at 5c!
