("OpenEC" or "the Company") (TSX VENTURE:OCE) is pleased to announce that it has signed a series of contracts with its strategic partners, Huawei Technologies Co Ltd. ("Huawei") and ASPire Technologies Group ("ASPire") to provided software for projects to be delivered to several mobile carriers in China.

Huawei and ASPire are two of the leading mobile operator technology and software providers in China. Huawei, based in Shenzhen, China reported 2006 sales of $11 billion US$ and its customers include 31 of the world's top 50 telecom operators including Vodafone, BT, Telefonica and FT/Orange and China Mobile. Aspire Group is the result of a joint investment between China Mobile, Merrill Lynch, HP and Vodafone. ASPire is a leader in the research & development of software products for information management and portal solutions designed for mobile operators.

The total value of these additional contracts is worth approximately $425,000 CDN with the work to be performed in our fiscal Q1 and Q2.
