close to something..i.e. pushing the ball accross the goal line..when big money is involved (or bigger money in the present instance if the UPSTO gives us the green light), the players may be smelling blood in the water and are acting accordingly (i.e. like a bunch of potential beneficiaries under a will that are primed and ready to fight for their piece of the pie - whether they are entitled to it or not.).
