Semantics. I meant what I said.

Sotero has 'vetoed' laws by forbidding his regime from enforcing laws on the books.... one case in point (probably one of the first instances) when it comes to black on white voter intimidation in Philadelphia. A case in which there was an actual court determination it had occured, the guilty identified, but the law (and judicial determined punishment) was forbidden to be enforced.

1. an authoritative prohibition : interdiction
2
a: a power of one department or branch of a government to forbid or prohibit finally or provisionally the carrying out of projects attempted by another department; especially: a power vested in a chief executive to prevent permanently or temporarily the enactment of measures passed by a legislature

Origin of VETO

Latin, I forbid, from vetare to forbid
and I'm quite aware of the only 7 Senators in the Democratically controlled Senate that voted against the NDAA...

The Senate passed the NDAA (S. 1867) last night on a 93-7 vote. The seven senators who voted against final passage are:

  • Coburn
  • Harkin
  • Lee
  • Merkley
  • Paul
  • Sanders
  • Wyden

3 R, 3 D, 1 I (Socialist).

If I had the means (and the time) I'd gladly start a "7 Senators PAC" to raise funds for these 7 Senators re-election campaigns on this issue REGARDLESS OF PARTY.
