For the sake of discussion lets take a price in the middle say 67. If someone bought at 67 and still has the stock when its worth is 85, they have a gain ``on paper`` of 18/share or a 27% increase (18/67 x 100 = 27%). It`s a theoretical gain and is not actually realized until it`s sold at that level. that`s what I mean.
