Canada - a safe mining jurisdiction ?

redgreen,

no problem. I think, you are not as "paranoid" as you think regarding First Nation issues.

As far as I´m concerned, the statement, that Canada is a safe mining jurisdiction is very far from the truth.

Because the First Nation "issue" is getting more and more a big problem for the whole mining business.

Even negotiations prior to any exploration and support from the companies (money, jobs, social development, help with infrastructure etc.) sometimes ends in blockades and disruptive behaviour.

So, you can´t be sure, even if you have signed agreements, MOU´s and other legal stuff, that you can carry out your exploration rights as granted by law.

Therefore the headline of "Canada being a safe mining jurisdiction" is misleading.

In South America or Africa you might have country risks of a different scale, but bottom line is, that exploration in Canada might have to face the same problems, just labeled with a different name.

Same result = no possibility to do your exploration job.
