VANCOUVER, British Columbia -- ProtoKinetix, Inc. (OTCBB:PKTX) announced the latest cryopreservation results using mouse embryonic stem cells preserved at -80 degrees C for 2 days and rapidly thawed to assay for viability. PKTX is currently in discussion with several corporations and Research Institutes about the commercialization of AAGP(TM) in the application of cryopreservation of cell lines and we are pleased to report the following results:

Based on previous experiments using stem cells, concentrations of AAGP(TM) were varied to obtain the lowest and most optimal concentrations.

 i.)   control - 10% Dimethyl Sulfoxide (DMSO)           66% viability
 ii.)  1mg/ml of AAGP(TM) 1-J +10% DMSO                  89% viability
 iii.) 5mg/ml of AAGP(TM) 1-J + 10% DMSO                 96% viability
 iv.)  4.4mg/ml of AAGP(TM) 5-F + 10% DMSO              100% viability

These experiments clearly demonstrate that AAGP(TM) concentrations can be lowered while maintaining close to the full potential of the molecule with regards to cryopreservation. These results confirm a substantial benefit in the preservation of expensive cell lines and tissue, clearly meeting a need in research, industry and medicine.
