You sure have selective reading.
First, I said I was sorry for every innocent who has died. Unlike some in Arab countries who were openly rejoicing on 9/11 at the death and destruction, I do not find a bit of happiness at the death of innocent civilians. I lived many years in a neighborhood not unlike the U.N. and have friends and neighbors from many religious and ethnic background, and do not appreciate you saying: "You don't care about them??? Maybe because they are black, or Muslim or poor???" That was uncalled for, and untrue.
Second, I said the insurgents were cowards for attacking troops from inside schools, hospitals, mosques and weddings. They are cowards for purposely using civilians (their own people) as human sheilds.
I also don't believe that way more than 5000 innocents have been killed by the U.S. (There is room for disagreement on that point, but it is my opinion.) And most of the insurgents (except the sectarian violence) are not just some Iraqi trying to protect his home. they are terrorists from surrounding countries; al queda et al. And they are targeting everything that will help bring stability to the country so the U.S. can get out. They blow up Iraqi police and army stations and recruits, markets, oil pipelines, etc, and yes, lots of civilians.
Whether it was right or wrong to go into Iraq, I don't know, and only God can rightly judge that one. I also never said that Canada and Europe was safer because of the war in Iraq. What I said was that if the terrorists would have succeeded in destroying the U.S. that they would come after Canada and Europe next. They (the terrorists, not all muslims) are extremists who believe it is their religious duty to kill all infidels. That includes my family and friends, and probably yours.
You can reply to this if you want, but I probably won't respond again. Just writing this brings back too many memories. When you have been at one funeral, and heard the bagpipes playing from other funerals; when you didn't know if your husband was coming home from safequarding ground zero and searching through the rubble, where surrounding buildings were unstable, and later collapsed; when your childrens school was in lockdown; when you tried to comfort friends who lost loved ones etc. I would rather spend the day thinking about and praying for others, and not beating this to death on the bb.
Take care
