Star Navigation Announces Continuation of Patent Infringement Litigation by Aeromechanical Services Ltd. (“AMS”)
TORONTO, April 7 /CNW/ - Star Navigation Systems Group Ltd. (TSX-V: SNA)
("Star" or the "Company"), a leading edge technology company focused on
providing Aerospace Solutions, both hardware and software platforms to assist
aviation operators worldwide, announces that Aeromechanical Services Ltd.
(TSX-V: AMS) has filed a Motion for Sanctions (the "Motion") against Star in
the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, claiming
$750,000 USD. Star had previously dismissed a complaint against AMS for
infringement of Star's U.S. Pat. No. 7,113,852. (See Press Release March 17,
2009). In the Motion, AMS claims that Star's actions in prosecuting its claim
were unreasonable.
Star believes the AMS Motion to be without merit and will vigorously
defend the action. As well, Star continues to assert its right to refile the
patent infringement complaint at such time as AMS's sales improve, and AMS is
on notice of Star's continued allegation of AMS's continued infringement of
its patent.
