Message: Minera Santa Elisa

This is interesting from several perspectives to me. The translation is difficult to really understand exactly what is being said. I guess it says that our subsidiary Minera Santa Elisa has pulled out of perhaps the Cueva Blanca area, they must be refering to when Intigold gave up their option for there as per the release below. But it seems Intigold was blaming it on the locals, but your post suggests that the locals are saying it is not their fault and that they will work with miners perhaps. Recently, Candente put out a news release that said someone was giving false information to the media, which suggested that Candente was having trouble with the locals, when Candente is not and have built thier relationship with the community and are working together while Candente forwards its property beside the Cueva Blanca. This is very confusing for SLI shareholders and I believe our company should put out a news release now clarifying what exactly is taking place.

The locals have to be respected, the locals lives and livelyhoods depend on clean mining practises as well as employment from projects. By Candentes progress with their project, it demonstrates that the locals are not unreasonable and solutions can be favourably worked out. These peoples rights, livelyhoods etc need to be respected by any miner coming into their home. If you put the shoe on the other foot for a minute, nobody in Canada would like a miner coming into their back yard digging with out some kind of agreement first, its only respect for rights, and this has to be secured so that all are in agreement and no ones rights are infringed upon. We need a statement from SLI headquarters as to exactly what is going on as we are getting two different perspectives on this.

"While both companies strongly believe there is great mineral potential at Cueva Blanca, the decision to drop the option is a direct result of the local communities, within the project, expressing strong concerns about, and objections to, mineral exploration activities at Cueva Blanca. As well as general difficulties and social unrest/violence being encountered in northern Peru by other exploration companies such as Candente Coppersat’s Canariaco Project, which adjoins the Cueva Blanca to the east and at Golden Alliance’s Rio Tabaconas Project."
