Santa, it's obvious that you are not grasping this. Yes, the 'rescheduled' AGM was only days before the effective date, but the news release is telling us that it was postponed because of the new ruling. It is apparent to me that this was not necessary (IMO):

The Amendments will not have any retroactive effect, so that security holder meetings (i) which have already been set and (ii) for which proxy materials have already been approved, will be unaffected by the Amendments until their next security holder meeting at which directors will be elected.

Was this just a way to get rid of an "unwanted" director?

As far as me calling or emailing the company, I have done both. Maybe you'll have better luck getting straight forward answers.
