Small shaft mines have a mininum mining width of 1.2m. There is machinery made today that can easily navigate in 2m widths of shafts. In the link directly below, some may be interested in looking at the geophysics of this mesothermal vein on pg 4, the black line in the middle of the geophysic slide, represents the mesothermal vein. You can see in these slides that a medium resitivity signature combined with a high chargeability signature, clearly identifies the vein at depth. In comparison, our chargeability is higher yet and was fine tuned to get a clearer picture and provide full accuracy of structure size on the Tesoro. You may also wish to look at page 7 about the "ore dumpers".

In the above excerpt, we see a second vein discovered at the 8m level in the A-4 adit, that is amazingly 1.0 m wide! Then we add the width of the andesite dyke, 40 cm, we then have a width of 1.4 m! The A-4 vein is average 40cm at surface, making an overall width of 1.8 meters, making this a very considerable width.

So, as you can see above, the narrow vein myth is easily debunked for the A-4 system. But, to spice it up a wee bit more, I am gonna add in hanging and footwall information to the tune of ~ 20 cm.

Zona Canchete

At Zona Canchete, the ZCV#1 shaft has been deepened to 60 meters and a drift is being developed on this level. Three vein samples have been collected to date from the shaft between the 40-m and 60-m levels. These returned 13.8g/t gold (0.39 oz/t) across 10cm, 35.2g/t (1.03 oz/t) across 14cm, and 43.3g/t (1.26 oz/t) across 15cm.

To date, a total of 233.3 tonnes of bulk sample material from the ZCV#1 Vein has been processed at the Dynacor milling facility. The average gold grade of the bulk samples was 0.98 opt and 90% gold recovery was reported by the mill.

Sample preparation and analytical work was undertaken at ALS Als (äls), Ger. Alsen, island, 121 sq mi (313 sq km), Sønderjylland co., S Denmark, in the Lille Bælt, separated from the mainland by the narrow Alensund. Chemex SA laboratory (an ISO (1) See ISO speed.
