1. Nature of operations and going concern
The British Columbia Securities Commission (BCSC) is a Crown corporation created by the Province of British
Columbia on April 1, 1995. We are responsible for the administration of the Securities Act. As a Crown corporation, the
BCSC is exempt from income taxes. We pay Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) and receive a 100% rebate.
