Yes I was aware of that, many UK investors got caught n those scams years a go until the London broker that specialised in them was closed down.

I used to make people aware if someone mentined to me they were getting phone calls. 

The stock had to be held for a year, so the scam coud be run for a long time before the inevitable collapse after about 11 months.
