NEWS - Torch River Reports 144 Meters of Moly at 0.123% Mo

posted on Oct 21, 08 05:30AM

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Oct. 21, 2008) - Torch River Resources Ltd ("Torch") (TSX VENTURE:TCR) (PINK SHEETS:TORVF) (FRANKFURT:WNF) is pleased to announce further drill results in its 2008 program on its Red Bird molybdenum/copper/rhenium property in British Columbia. DDH 153, 154 and 155 are located 258 meters east of, 85 meters north of, and 73 meters higher in elevation in relation to recently reported DDH 08-RB-156. All contain disseminated and fracture filling molybdenite associated with quartz stockwork and K-spar/kaolinite alteration which is hosted in quartz monzonite porphyry. A sixteen hole program with a total of 5,000 meters of drilling has now been completed on Red Bird in 2008 with four holes remaining to be reported.

DDH 159 was drilled 200 meters east of DDH 08-RB-156. This hole was previously reported, however, some data was incomplete, so the final results are being restated.

Torch is very encouraged as these results show long strike lengths of mineralization from surface in four of the above reported holes. This complements the above average Mo geochemical and assay values received in 2008.

We will report further results as they become available. Further holes in the program further tested these areas of the Main Zone and also parts of the Southeast and Southwest Zones. Torch is interested in the potential of high grade sub-zones of the Main Zone as they might relate to a possible starter pit for future production and also the potential for high grade potential underground resources.

A diagram of the location of these drill holes of the 2008 program can be viewed at http://www.corebox.net/properties/re... or at Torch's web site at www.torchriver.ca.
