VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Nov. 29, 2007) - UC Resources Ltd. ("UC" or "the Company") (TSX VENTURE:UC) is pleased to announce that Michel Roy, BSc, Geology; MA, Project Management, Chairman and CEO of ECU Silver Mining Inc., Torreon, Coahuila, Mexico, has agreed to join the board of directors and the company has put his name forward in the circular for the annual general meeting to stand for election by our shareholders.
Mr. Roy earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from the UQAM in Montreal in 1974. He later obtained a Masters degree in Project Management in 1997 UQUAT in Rouyn-Noranda.
Mr. Roy has over 30 years experience in the mining industry, working extensively in Mexico, Canada and Brazil. He developed first-hand knowledge of the mining industry while working for Patino Mines before moving to Camchib Resources where he worked from 1981 to 1986, supervising large exploration teams with multi-million dollar budgets. From 1986 to 1995, he managed a number of junior exploration companies that were active in Eastern Canada. During that time he successfully launched a small gold mining operation in the Rouyn-Noranda area. From 1995 to 1999, Mr. Roy was a consultant for several junior mining companies with properties in Canada, the USA, South Africa, Brazil and Mexico. He joined ECU in 1999 as President and CEO.
The Company's officers and directors look forward too and welcome the participation of Mr. Roy with his extensive background, experience, success and demonstrated leadership in moving junior exploration companies forward.
