Important role of Beta-1,6-glucan

It has long been assumed that the predominant Beta-1,3-glucan is the most effective in triggering the immune response. However, a recent study has shown that the Beta-1,6-glucan polymer is, in fact, more effective in mediating neutrophil activity, and compliment factors C3b/C3d are more readily deposited on Beta-1/6-glucan than on Beta-1/3-glucan.

BIOAGRA's Agrastim® is made up of Beta-1,3 and Beta-1,6-D-glucans from yeast cell walls.
