I had to laugh when I read "And I cannot not imagine anyone stupid enough to come out with a r/s at the getgo of a new company". I can.

The reverse split at the onset doesn't make sense to me either; but, there's quite a bit about the way Nanopierce, Intercell, and Vyta were managed that has made little sense to me. I suppose I should be thankful for the lessons I learned as a heavy investor in Nanopierce... NEVER trust anyone. I still believe, as investors, many of us did what we thought was right. Unfortunately, I don't think any of us knew the whole story, and therefore, we didn't have the information we really needed to make informed decisions. I will NEVER invest in another BB stock. I'm still upset about losing as much money as I did (for which I take responsibility); but, I am most upset that the system allows for the type of misinformation that went on.
