Mr. Poulos served as the President of Wireless Age subsidiary mmwave Technologies Inc. from 1998 to 2005 and moved into his current position upon the acquisition of mmwave in March of 2005. Located in Mississauga (Toronto), Canada , Brad oversees the operation of the company on a day-to-day basis. Mr. Poulos has 20 years experience in the telecommunications industry including 15 years at Telesat Canada where he held progressively senior positions - in both technical and marketing roles. At the time of his departure to join mmwave he was responsible for sales and marketing for Telesat's voice and data business. He has extensive experience in the operation, design and building of wireless networks of all kinds. Mr. Poulos is on the board of directors of the Canadian Wireless Telecommunications Association, and holds an Electronics Engineering Technologist Diploma (DeVry) and a Master of Business Administration from the Ivey School of Business (University of Western Ontario).
Mr. Cowie holds a CMA designation and more than 16 years experience in growing retail and technology based companies. After beginning his career as an information technology consultant and project manager with an information technology company, he spent 8 years in senior operating and financial executive roles with a major Western Canadian retailer. In 1997, Mr. Cowie became Chief Financial Officer of a major Western Canadian engineering/information technology company with over 200 professionals in Canada and internationally. For the past 4 years Mr. Cowie has been responsible for the administration and operation of the company's retail business unit, Wireless Age, and played key roles in the creation and operation of the wholesale business unit Wireless Source and the Land Mobile Radio distribution business.
Glenn Poulos is the President of mmwave located at Headquarters in the Toronto. He was a founder of mmwave in October 1991 and is Employee no. 1. Glenn has 18 years experience in the telecommunications industry including several years as President of Anritsu Electronics (Canada) a global supplier of advanced Test and Measurement solutions. His background is technical sales throughout his career and this continues to this day with Glenn focusing primarily on customers. Glenn hold an Electronics Technician diploma from DeVry.
Mr. MacKinnon has more than 30 years of experience in wireless communications systems, business development and management. Mr. MacKinnon, while employed Lavalin, was involved in remote sensing, the real-time collection of oceanographic, metrological and sea ice information in both the Beaufort Sea and the North Atlantic. Mr. MacKinnon was responsible for the design of the enabling technologies of the Weather Channel, including the satellite-to-cable computer network which provides the Weather Channel with its local content. Mr. MacKinnon was involved in several international switched digital television projects. As President of E-Concept, Mr. MacKinnon oversaw the development of several bandwidth management technologies and was a pioneer in the field of real-time Broadcast on Demand (BOD) and remote/downstream switching.
Mr. Hokkanen has served as the Company's CFO since May, 2003. Mr. Hokkanen is an executive level financial manager with over 6 years experience in public company financial management. Mr. Hokkanen holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Toronto and is a CMA (Certified Management Accountant) and a member of the Society of Management Accountants, Ontario. From January 2001 to April 2003 Mr. Hokkanen was CFO of IRMG Inc., a Toronto based financial management consulting firm. Mr. Hokkanen served as CFO of Simmonds Capital Limited from July 1998 to January 2001 and served as CFO of Trackpower Inc. from February 1998 to June 2001. For the period April 1996 to July 1998, Mr. Hokkanen served as Treasurer of Simmonds Capital Limited.
Ms. Weiler has been with the Simmonds group of companies since 1979. She has extensive experience in Human Resources and Corporate Governance matters. With more than 25 years experience, she is well versed in the corporate responsibilities associated with running public U.S. companies. Ms. Weiler was appointed Corporate Secretary of the Company in May 2003. Ms. Weiler is also Corporate Secretary of Track Power Inc. and Azonic Corporation which are both publicly traded companies.
