Active Control and Advantage PressurePro set to bring real-time Tire Pressure Monitoring to mine managers

Integration of PressurePro's leading Tire Pressure Monitoring with
ActiveMine(TM) wireless broadband network offers cost savings and less
downtime for mines
>>

TORONTO AND HARRISONVILLE, MO, April 24 /CNW/ - Active Control Technology
Inc. (TSX-V:ACT) and Advantage PressurePro, LLC announced today that they will
team up to provide real-time, centralized Tire Pressure Monitoring with Active
Control's wireless communications system, for use in the mining industry.
The two companies will integrate PressurePro's world leading Tire
Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) technology with Active Control's
ActiveMine(TM), the premier wireless voice communications and locating system
for mines. The combined technologies will transmit mine machinery tire
pressure alerts in real-time to mine managers via ActiveMine's robust
broadband wireless network, enabling fast corrective action. It would also
allow for longer-term, centralized monitoring of tire performance.
For mine operators, these capabilities can deliver significant cost
savings through the prevention of tire damage, decreased equipment downtime,
extended tire life, and improved fuel efficiency. These benefits are
particularly valuable for surface mines, most of which operate machinery with
very large and very expensive tires under gruelling conditions.
Tire problems are a major consideration for mine operators because of the
significant cost of equipment downtime and the high cost of tire repair and
replacement. Due to a worldwide shortage of specialized off-the-road (OTR)
mine tires, some of which cost more than $100,000 each, it can take as long as
two years to obtain replacements.
"Together, we will provide a unique offering to mines that can maximize
equipment up-time and deliver impressive cost savings," said Steve Barrett,
President and CEO, Active Control. "We look forward to working with
PressurePro to help our customers get more out of their mine."
PressurePro TPMS solutions, used in a wide variety of industries
worldwide, are proven in surface and underground mine applications. "From the
US and Australia to Russia and Brazil, our stand-alone systems have continued
to prove their reliability, durability, accuracy and savings capability,"
stated Phillip Zaroor, President and CEO of PressurePro. "Our partnership with
Active Control will now provide the market with a complete monitoring package
that not only includes TPMS, but an entire range of vehicle information that
can be monitored from an office-based management system."
Active Control will soon begin certification of PressurePro TPMS for use
with ActiveMine. Under ACT's certification program, products and applications
to be used with ActiveMine undergo rigorous testing to ensure they are
compatible with the system. The program's goal is to expand the number of
products and applications available for use with ActiveMine, and to drive
incremental revenues for Active Control through sales and services generated
by new certified offerings.
