BRUSHFORK -- The 2009 Bluefield Coal Show kicked off today and will continue until Friday, September 18.
The event is sponsored by the Greater Bluefield Chamber of Commerce at the Brushfork Armory. This year more than 200 vendors representing 32 states and 5 countries will attend the event.
Coal Show Chairman, Charlie Peters, says the goal is to provide world-wide exposure for the West Virginia Coal Industry.
"This year is bigger than years past," said Peters. "Following this event we expect sales to increase."
Companies have displays and exhibits set up inside and outside the armory. There will be demostrations and seminars geared to coal industry professionals.
