Apoquindo Minerals Announces Positive Baseline Environmental Report for the Apoq

posted on Jun 26, 2008 07:20AM

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - June 26, 2008) - Apoquindo Minerals Inc. ("Apoquindo" or the "Company") (TSX VENTURE:AQM) is pleased to announce the completion of the Environmental Base Line Report on the Company's Apoquindo Copper Oxide Project.

The report, prepared by Mineria & Medioambient Ltda, indicates that there is a total absence of archaeological sites and human settlements, and that no flora or fauna was observed.

"These results demonstrate that environmental permitting in the area where the Apoquindo Copper Oxide Project is located will be easy and straight forward as there are minimal factors that can be impacted due to the nature of the desert location," said Bruno Behn, director and Vice President of Corporate Affairs for Apoquindo Minerals.

This area is a designated mining region with excellent mining infrastructure; the port of Mejillones is just over an hour from the Project. Electricity is very close and roads are well kept all year round. In addition, there is a nearby Calama-Antofagasta water pipeline and skilled labour. The following SX EW plants are located in the region: Ivan Zar of Compania Minera Milpo, Michilla of Antofagasta Minerals, Mantos Blancos of Anglo American and Lomas Bayas of Xtrata.

Management is in the process of completing a NI43-101 compliant resource estimate on the Apoquindo Copper Oxide Project, incorporating drill results received from the property up to June 10th, 2008.

Furthermore, in a correction to the June 10th news release entitled, "Apoquindo Minerals Drills 29M of 3.3% CuT in "New Zone" at Elenita", in the Madrugador highlights, the 46m of 1.26% CuT were results from hole RQM - 054 (and not QE-036).

Dr. Tom Henricksen, a consultant geologist of the Company and the Company's Qualified Person for the purposes of NI 43-101, has approved the information contained in this news release.
