ccnm

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - June 29, 2011) -
ASHBURTON VENTURES INC. (TSX VENTURE:ABR)(FRANKFURT:ARB) ("Ashburton" or the "Company") is pleased to provide a brief update on activities at its Deep Creek Project, located 112 kilometres north of Elko, Nevada. Drilling in the Upper Vein area and exploration of the greater extent of the property continues, with a total of 1,765 meters (5,791 feet) of drilling completed to date.

Drilling began in the Waterfall Vein area due to late snow cover at higher elevations. Six drill holes were collared in the Waterfall Vein Area to test the subsurface extent of the Waterfall and 13-5 veins, and to test for mineralization between the veins and the Range Front Structure to the west (see news release May 20, 2011). The entire 900 meters (2,954 feet) of core recovered in the Waterfall Vein has been logged, and 230 meters (753 feet) have been cut and submitted for assay. Intervals of intense hydrothermal brecciation were encountered in the drilling between the veins and the Range Front Structure.

Drilling in the Upper Vein began in mid-May as snows receded, to test the subsurface extent of the Upper Vein and its extension beneath younger volcanics to the southeast (see news release April 19, 2011). Ten holes have been completed for a total of 864 meters (2,836 feet), with 565 meters (1,854 feet) logged, and 300 meters (987 feet) cut and submitted for assay. Visible gold in quartz veins was noted in several intervals during the course of field logging the core.

Results for core that has been submitted for assay are anticipated in the upcoming weeks. Images of veining, hydrothermal brecciation and silicification encountered during the drilling program can be viewed at the Ashburton website.

The technical contents of this release were approved by Dr. Tom McCandless, P.Geo., Vice President, Exploration for Ashburton and a qualified person as defined by National Instrument 43-101.
