Mexico-based agent signed for Carmanah EG and EverGEN solar lighting products in Mexican marketplace

As part of the ongoing growth of its solar outdoor lighting business in Mexico, Carmanah Technologies (TSX: CMH.TO - News) is pleased to announce an agreement has been signed with Best Light Mexico (“BLM”) for the specification, marketing and sales of Carmanah solar outdoor lighting products in Mexico.

Building on the success of the Carmanah-Semex Manufacturing and Distribution partnership, established in 2010, the appointment of BLM in Mexico for Carmanah-Semex represents a significant advancement for the specification and distribution of Carmanah’s solar outdoor lighting systems in the country. Earlier this year, Carmanah-Semex presented the State of Puebla with the Carmanah EG320 solar outdoor lighting systems for a 4.2 km park and pathway lighting project valued at over $1.2 million USD. In late 2011, the project was awarded to Carmanah and over 400 Carmanah solar outdoor lighting systems were deployed. The park later played host to a National celebration of the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Puebla which included the inauguration of the park by Mexico President, Felipe Calderon and National and International delegates on May 5th, 2012.

BLM, founded by Ing. Arnulfo Villar, maintains over 35 years of experience in high specification lighting projects for public and private entities in Mexico which have included general area and street lighting for industrial and commercial developments and infrastructure improvement projects. The company’s lighting experience coupled with Mexico’s growing interest and investment in renewable resources (particularly lighting) positions BLM as a resource for major solar outdoor lighting projects nationwide. Located in Mexico City, BLM is establishing a showroom highlighting the Carmanah-Semex product line, and will include an educational center for prospective industries interested in learning more about taking their projects solar.

Under the terms of the agreement, BLM will pursue sales of the Carmanah–Semex product lines, including EG-series and EverGEN solar outdoor lighting products, with localized sales representatives and marketing activities centered in Mexico City.
