Cogitore Reports More Assays From Hole SC-34 at Scott Lake; West Lens Interval Extended by Additional 21 Metres to Reach 53.7 Metres of 1.88% Copper, ...

... 4.89% Zinc, 0.39 g/t Gold and 69.5 g/t Silver

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Jan. 12, 2009) - COGITORE Resources Inc. (the "Company") (TSX VENTURE:WOO) is pleased to report additional encouraging results from Scott Lake drill hole SC-34. An initial set of assays were released on December 1, 2008. All remaining assays for the hole have now been received and the Company is pleased to report the following highlights:

- The 32.7 metre intersection of massive and semi-massive sulphides initially reported on the December 1, 2008 press release as grading 2.05% copper and 6.57% zinc has been extended by an additional 21 metres of mineralization grading 1.61% copper, 2.27% zinc and 58.8 g/t silver. The combined massive and stringer sulphide intersection, which begins at 459.7 metres down the hole, now represents 53.7 metres of continuous zinc and copper mineralization for the West Lens (Figure 1) grading 1.88% copper, 4.89% zinc, 0.39 g/t gold and 69.5 g/t silver;

- The entire West Lens stringer zone, beginning at 479m down the hole, has now been extended to a depth of 609 metres for a total stringer envelope of 130 metres, including a previously unreported 74.2m envelope starting at 534.8m and averaging 0.83% copper, 1.99% zinc, 0.34 g/t gold and 27.6 g/t silver;

- Strongly anomalous gold values are found throughout the West Lens stringer zone, including a one metre section grading 14.5 g/t gold at 600 metres;

- Two pyrite-rich sulphide zones over core lengths of 7.7 metres (631.3m to 639.1m) and 3.6 metres (661.5m to 665.1m) are strongly anomalous in zinc, grading 3.7% and 7.3% zinc respectively. These pyrite-rich horizons have not been correlated with any of the other known major mineralized horizons on the Scott Lake project; and

- The new massive sulphide lens ("1750 Lens") discovered with hole SC-28 (see press release of September 10, 2008) was confirmed and extended in area by hole SC-34. Hole SC-34 lies 150 metres to the west and down-dip of SC-28 (Figure 2). This intersection graded 0.30% copper, 6.00% zinc, 0.23 g/t gold and 26.3 g/t silver over a core length of 12.4 metres, which included 3.1 metres of barren dyke at zero grade.

A schematic diagram showing the trace of hole SC-34 is presented on the attached Figure 3 with the Company's current interpretation of the various styles of mineralization encountered in hole SC-34. In essence, hole SC-34 cored five separate massive sulphide horizons. Each horizon represents a distinct period of "Black Smoker" type massive sulphide accumulation onto a former seafloor. The extensive stringer zone which almost links the West Lens with the 1750 Lens represents a "feeder vent" structure through which mineralizing fluids circulated to transport the various metals to individual massive sulphide horizons. Complete assays for SC-34 are tabled below:

Dr. Riverin commented "Combined with the initial assays released last December, these results confirm that SC-34 has clearly hit a "hot spot" in the Scott Lake mineralized system. It is a rare occurrence in exploration to hit, in the same hole, no less than five distinct massive sulphide lenses, in addition to spectacular envelopes of stringer sulphides with grades that potentially are of real economic interest. Core angles in massive sulphides are generally high, suggesting hole SC-34 intersected an area of multiple stacked horizons in an active volcanic environment. Holes SC-34 and SC-30, located approximately 225 metres apart, both had high copper grades, suggesting the newly discovered upper part of the West Lens may represent a substantial accumulation of proximal high grade massive sulphides that still remains open to the east and to the west."

Despite the current negative capital and commodity market conditions, Company management has determined that these results are sufficiently impressive so as to necessitate an aggressive winter drill program to continue to develop its understanding of the Scott Lake system. The Company plans to drill an additional 4,000 metres over 7 holes in the first quarter of 2009 to test extensions of SC-30 and SC-34. Drilling resumed at Scott Lake with one machine on January 7, 2009.

Work is carried out by the personnel of Cogitore Resources Inc., under the supervision of GTrald Riverin, PhD, P.Geo. He is a qualified person (as defined by National Instrument 43-101) and has more than 31 years of experience in mineral exploration.

The drill core from hole SC-34 was logged and marked up for assay at the Company's secure facility in Chibougamau, Quebec. Drill core for assay was split in half. Half of the core was shipped in sample bags to the ALS Chemex laboratory in Val d'Or, PQ for specific gravity measurement and sample preparation. Pulps were flown to Vancouver, B.C. for analysis with appropriate standards, duplicates and replicates used for quality control purposes. The other half of the core is retained for future reference.

Cogitore explores for VMS-type deposits in areas where such deposits have been found and mined before. Exploring in such areas is preferred because of existing infrastructure, knowledgeable local workforces and broad public support for mining. Collectively, these are major competitive advantages for logistics and economics.
