GSR's Ron Stack wins Yukon Prospector of the Year Award, 2013

A couple of Yukon miners are being honored for their work in the industry.

The 2013 Yukon Prospector of the Year Award, went to Ron Stack, for his discovery of the "Goldbank Trend" on Goldstrike Resources, Plateau south-property, just north of Ross River.

Ron's worked the entire Territory, from the Rancheria area to the Kluane Range's and all the way to the Northwest Territories, and Nunavut.

The latest member of the Yukon Prospector's Hall of Fame is being inducted posthumously.

This year's recipient is Jim McFaull, who started his career with United Keno Mines in the 1970's and had worked such regions as the Klondike, Sixty Mile and the Elsa-Keno mining districts, until his untimely passing, in 2012.

Meantime, Ben Warnsby and Alex Seely won the 2013 Leckie Award for outstanding and responsible practices in placer mining.

Regent Ventures won the 2013 Leckie Award for outstanding and responsible practices in quartz mining for their work on their Red Mountain property, east of Dawson City.

The honors were given out during the 41st Yukon Geo-Science Forum Awards Banquet, held Monday night at the Kwanlin Dun Cultural Centre.
