Message: Assay Potential from 2013 drill season

Many people seem to be worried about the results of the 2013 drill program. I believe we are all going to be pleasantly surprised with what we will discover. As Risk explained, those drill holes in the Main zone had one objective which was to convert the waste rock into generating ore.

Next, to have a general idea of what to expect even though these visuals do not provide an exact science but the correlation is still strong look at previous news releases:

Mike Zone Drilling:

DDH 2012CF429 and DDH 2012CF429B were attempted to test the 1,000m long by 500m wide strong chargeability anomaly that defines the Mike zone. Both drill holes reached depths of approximately 140m when extremely difficult ground conditions caused termination of both drill holes. These holes did not reach the chargeability anomaly.

ASTER Imagery Study:

ASTER (Advanced Spaceborne Thermal Emission Reflection) Imagery is commonly used to map specific types of alteration in bedrock that indicated the possible presence of mineralization. The ASTER study completed at Schaft Creek identified two zones of clay alteration. The first zone occurs in an area that extends from the north end of the GK zone to the ES zone. Mapping and prospecting within this zone of clay alteration has located chalcopyrite mineralization in outcrop and chalcopyrite-bornite mineralization in boulders and stream beds draining the zone. The second zone is located approximately 4 kms southwest of the Schaft Creek deposit, is roughly circular in shape and covers an area that measures 3.0kms by 1.5kms.

  • In the Mike zone, Diamond drill hole (DDH) CF429-2012 intersected an average of 0.02% copper, 0.02g/t gold and 1.09 g/t silver over a core length of 84.49m starting at a core interval of 94.12 m, with individual maximum sample concentrations of 0.05% copper, 0.15 g/t gold, 16.9 g/t silver and 0.006% molybdenum; and

  • In the Discovery zone, DDH CF430-2012 located approximately 300m east of DDH CF427-2012 intersected 0.14% copper, 0.01g/t gold, 0.006% molybdenum and 5.55g/t silver (0.36% copper equivalent) over a core length of 9.40m m starting at a core interval of 122.75m; including a 1.4m core interval that assayed 0.16% copper, 0.03g/t gold and 414 g/t (13.31 ounces per tonne) silver

If you look at the bolded figures, we were hitting these grades without getting close to the chargeability signature. Now, this year we will hit these targets (Mike and discovery zone signatures), now lets see the assay results from those signatures. The holes drilled this season drilled around 800-1000+ meters compared to last season's failed attempts of 140-178 meters drilled. The Mike zone is 1,000 long by 500 wide in size, these are not small deposits and we are now defining the potential of these chargeability anomalies.

Diamond drill hole (DDH) CF-429-2012 tested the chargeability signature referred to as the Mike zone. Although the mineralized interval is relatively narrow, the data suggests that the low grade copper mineralization in the volcanics represents a leakage halo from a deeper source. This drill hole was terminated at a depth of 178m and did not test the target chargeability signature.

Referring to the bolded sentence, I believe Teck wants to hit that "deeper source". This year's drill season also intends on reaching that "Chargeability signature" as the 2012 drill program did not hit the target due to ground issues in which Teck/Copper Fox finally solved (we hope). Looking at the 2012 drill season, it was not a complete waste as first we determined we have multiple deposits supporting our "district" theory, and the huge potential of mineral exploration at the Schaft Creek property. Second, the extremely high grade silver content within the Mike and discovery zones of these sizeable anomalies without even reaching the chargeability signatures!

DDH CF-430-2012 located approximately 300m east of DDH CF-427-2012 was completed to test the chargeability anomaly associated with the Discovery Zone. This hole was terminated due to drilling difficulties and did not test the target chargeability signature that was intersected in DDHCF427-2012. The overall average grade of the silver concentration in this mineralized interval is significantly affected by one sample that assayed 414 g/t (13.31ounces per tonne) silver. In determining the weighted average grade of this interval, the 414 g/t silver assay was arbitrarily cut to 31.1 g/t silver.

Also, lets not forget about the GK and ES zones, "ASTER study completed at Schaft Creek identified two zones of clay alteration" but we are just too busy realizing the other two deposits we uncovered (Mike and Discovery zones) that will add many years of ore production and an increased mine life if Teck plans on a mega pit.

Please refer to the above link, this is a post from Explorationguy using the exact positions of the 2013 drill holes in connection to the 2012 resource block model. This is a great visual to show us as the placement of these drill holes are right in the middle of those pink blobs going deep into the anomaly. The three drill holes that target the Mike and Discovery zone will surely test the "deeper source" of mineralization and finally reach the chargeabilities that Elmer wished he did in 2012 but failed to do becuase of ground issues. But then again we did hit some amazing silver grades. We can now include the 2012/13 drill results into a new BFS which I hope is announced as an objective for the joint venture once the assays are publicly announced.
