Financiers have pulled away from funding projects in the oil sands. Teck themselves mentioned this when they backed out of the Frontier project. 

It most likely would not matter which party was in power. Teck did not pull out because they did not get approval. They would have waited for the decision if that was the case.

If Teck is not willing to invest in Canada they can simply return the mineral claims to Copper Fox.
